ABOUT ERIC KOHNER

Eric Kohner came to leadership development through an unusual door. Before he was an executive coach and facilitator, he was an actor. Theater taught him something essential about leadership: you are the instrument. People experience who you are long before they evaluate what you know.

That understanding has shaped more than 30 years of Eric's work with leaders across cultures, industries, and complex global organizations. An internationally recognized executive coach and Master Certified Coach (MCC), Eric was an early leader in the Co-Active movement and has worked with organizations including Capgemini, the U.S. Navy, Sony Music Entertainment, and ING.

Eric draws from coaching, embodiment, storytelling, executive presence, and theater to create experiences that move leadership out of the theoretical and into practice. He may coach. He may challenge. He may ask someone to stop talking and notice what's happening in their body. The method changes depending on the person and the moment. The purpose doesn't: to help leaders have more of themselves available to lead.

Eric doesn't believe there is one right way to lead. Leadership requires range — courage and vulnerability, action and reflection, disruption and support. The strongest leaders aren't trapped inside one version of themselves.
